Envision walking down the beach and stumbling across a blooming wildflower meadow, mixtures of classical and tropical florals covering every inch of earth while a brisk, late October breeze scuttles through. Truly a dream world. This was their vision and my pleasure.
The couple knew their color palette. A base emphasis color of Terracotta, sienna, and tan balanced by sage and dark green colors. However, as we discussed their vision, it bloomed into a more vibrant colorful pallet that included pops of orange and yellow and even blue. Catherine desired wildflower dreams while Deidrick relaxed among tropical tones. I was blessed to marry these two styles into something beautiful that represented them and their stories.
The outstanding installation was their towering ceremony arch, completely overgrown with texture, tone and color. Dancing Cosmos, Butterfly Ranunculus, Scabiosas, Iris and Zinnias stood out among native foliage and grasses that mimicked the surroundings. Finally, Maple leaves informed the season.
The bridal bouquet was the only element that included poppies for a greater dash of color and symbolism while the bridesmaids walked down the aisle with delicate monochromatic bouquets of cosmos and daisies.
It was an incredible artistic vision they set out with, merging wildflower and tropical vibes amidst a late-October beach wedding. To take their colors, their personalities and create the florals that told the story of their love and happy colorful souls is an experience I’ll never forget. Oh, and absolutely top 5 favourite arches of all time.
