Renee and Ken had the most incredible, rom-com meet cute. They met on an airplane, coincidentally sitting next to each other and took off right away. Their journey takes them from sky to sea and that’s exactly the meaning behind the florals of their special day.
Their theme colors were Blush and Navy blue - symbolizing the sky above the clouds and the sea down below, transitioning through soft white clouds each way. It follows the highs and the lows of their ten year relationship bringing them to this special moment.
The bridal bouquet was a romantic array of garden and spray Roses with pops of Lisianthus, Butterfly Ranunculus and Queen Anne’s Lace for texture and a touch of Saponaria for an extra layer; only the bridal bouquet included this special bloom of Saponaria.
The cocktail hour was the “appetizer” for the reception, where guests were treated to a stunning dreamspace where flowers were the main feature and banquettes were topped with overflowing lush urns.
For the reception, the ballroom was transformed into a soft romantic candlelit setting with garden centerpieces and elevated arrangements that gave that unforgettable, “WOW” factor. Navy was the accent color for non-flower features around the venue. My arrangements focused on the soft and sweet ivory and blush tones - using roses to fill the room with their sweet, garden fragrance.
The blush and navy hues evoked a sense of transition. I’m used to transitions, the joyful and the sorrowful. Writing their special day with flowers, making a beautiful and meaningful representation of their love story was an absolute honor.
